Vita Gayduchik

Washington High School Coordinator

Vita Gayduchik, like many others, grew up in a Christian home. At the age of 12, she came to know who Christ is, welcomed Jesus into her heart, and began to devote herself to seeking His face. After accepting Christ as her personal Savior, the desire to become an over-seas missionary became a wishful longing. By the will of God, in December of 2009, Vita was accepted into Slavic Missionary Bible School in Jacksonville, Florida. From January to June the following year, during the study in her school, the Lord revealed that He had another plan for Vita. During the time she couldn’t understand why the paperwork, passport, financial support, etc., were not working out. Through it all, she learned to trust God on a more diligent level.

In June 2010, she returned to Sioux Falls where she began to get involved with First Priority/Collision at Washington High School. At the end of July, she was asked to join the First Priority team and become a coordinator for WHS. Only then did Vita finally see why the Lord brought her back home. He has called her to do mission work in the public high school. Helping students reach out to their classmates with the love of Christ and being an example to the youth of the school has become her missionary commission and passion. Aside from this, Vita still hopes to one day do mission work in Africa, if it is God’s will for her.

Vita’s greatest exaltation in life is Jesus Christ. First, serving Him and glorifying His name in all things. Second, she desires to serve others with the love and humility that Christ served with. She desires to zealously seek the face of God and stand as an ambassador to the glorious name of Jesus. She also wants to be an encouragement and servant to others in her life.

Joshua 1:7-9 has brought much significance into Vita’s life. It has become the passage that reflects her life in Christ today. “Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” May we be reminded to hold on to serving God and to keep on building our strength in Him, so we may know that the Lord is always with us in whatever storm of life we may face.
